Medical imaging is the technique and process of creating visual representations of the interior of a body for clinical analysis and medical intervention, as well as visual representation of the function of some organs or tissues. . Ultrasound is a wave with a frequency which exceeds upper limit of Hearing. Above 20,000 Hz
Ultrasound images are captured in real-time, they can also show movement of the body's internal organs as well as blood flowing through the blood vessels. No ionizing radiation exposure associated with ultrasound imaging.

Ultrasound Scanners works based on the Principle of Echo reflection of High Frequency sound waveforms. The Piezo electrical crystals inside the Scanning Probes generates Mechanical Vibration with help of electricity. This vibrations generates High Frequency sound. The Scanning Probe placed directly on Human Body with a minor pressure. Ultrasound gel is used for smooth Transmission of Sound waves to Human Body. The Gel medium reduces Acoustical resistance. ( Acoustic impedance is the resistance for propagation of ultrasound waves )
During the further Transmission of Ultrasound in Human body Impedance varies according to the density of the material ultrasound passes through. The Reflected Sound waves from Organs will be captured back(Echo) by Piezo electric crystals on Probe. Piezo Electric crystals acts as Trans Receivers.
Ultrasound CPU, Imaging processing devices Develops a Grey Scale image based on the Intensity of Echo signal. (Black & White Image.)

Ultrasound Probes & Application Area :
1. Convex Probe : Abdominal Area
2. Linear : Skin, Vascular
3. Phased Array/Micro Convex/Cardiac Probe : Heart
4. Trans Vaginal Probe
