Glucometer : Quick Check for Blood Sugar

Glucometer is used to measure Random Blood Glucose levels for Diabetic patients.

Portable Glucometer is used for measuring Blood Glucose with units as mg/dL. In normal healthy person Blood Glucose level before meals ranges from 70 to 130 mg/dL and after meals should be less than 180 mg/dL .

How it works ?

Lancet Device (A) is used to prick the finger for blood with a disposable Lancet. (B) Pricked finger is squeezed for one drop of blood for testing. (If wiped with alcohol swab avoid taking first drop of blood) (C) Test Strip takes Blood with a capillary roof on strip. (Ensure test strip is attached to Glucometer before it is exposed to Blood drop)

Glucometer Technology :

Glucometer uses a Disposable Electrochemical strip. It employs enzymes that converts blood glucose to an electrical current. The electricity through the strip is read by meter as Glucose Concentration. (See above picture as reference).
